Enter a domain and we'll look up its public RDAP registration data — when it was registered, when it expires, and its nameservers.

What it does

Look up a domain's public registration details through RDAP: when it was registered, when it expires, its registrar and status, without the clutter of old WHOIS tools.

  1. 01

    Registration date

When the domain was first registered.

  2. 02

    Expiry date

When it's due to expire, so renewals never lapse.

  3. 03

    Registrar

Which company the domain is registered with.

  4. 04

    Status

Locks and statuses such as clientTransferProhibited, explained.

How to use it

  1. 1

    Enter a domain

Your own, a competitor's or one you'd like to buy.

  2. 2

    Read the record

We query the official RDAP service for that domain extension.

  3. 3

    Act on it

Renew, lock or transfer your domain, or note when someone else's expires.

Reading your results

Good

Locked, renewing

Transfer lock on and an expiry date comfortably in the future.

Check

Expiring soon

Renew now, and switch on auto-renew so it never lapses.

Fix

No transfer lock

An unlocked domain is easier to hijack. Turn the lock on at your registrar.

Why it matters

If a domain expires or is hijacked, your website and email stop working, and getting it back can be expensive or impossible. Knowing your registrar, expiry date and lock status takes seconds and prevents a very bad day.
