7 UX mistakes quietly killing your conversion rate

A page with a primary CTA, a secondary CTA, and a newsletter signup all fighting for the same visual weight forces the visitor to make a decision they didn't come to make. We regularly see product pages with 'Buy Now', 'Add to Wishlist', and 'Chat with Sales' styled as near-identical buttons — the visitor's eye has no idea which one the business actually wants clicked, so a meaningful share of visitors click none of them. The fix: one primary action per screen, styled so it's unmistakably the default next step. Everything else — 'Learn more', 'Compare plans', social links — should visually recede in size, colour, or position.

A blank white screen for two seconds feels broken and makes people question whether the click even registered; the same two seconds filled with a skeleton loading state feels intentional and fast, because the interface is visibly doing something. The fix: skeleton screens and optimistic UI for anything that fetches data, especially product grids, search results, and dashboards — and reserve layout space up front so content doesn't jump around as it arrives.
